What to include

The practice can give a useful answer quickly when the first message covers four things:

The facility — what it is, roughly how large, how many sites.
The regime — who inspects it and under what authority, if that is known. If it is not known, say so; establishing it is often the first piece of work.
What is coming — a scheduled survey, a citation already issued with its deadline, an audit, or a matter in litigation.
The timeline — the date that actually constrains the work.

For counsel

Expert witness inquiries should include the jurisdiction, the posture and any operative deadlines, and the parties for a conflicts check. A current CV, fee schedule, and the prior testimony disclosure required under Rule 26(a)(2)(B) are provided at the point of engagement. See expert witness.
